Diane Fisher, LMT, NMT - agitator | educator | facilitator

  1. a person who urges others to protest or rebel.
  2. an apparatus for stirring liquid, as in a washing machine or a photographic developing tank.

Agitator. The word alone often stirs up things in people. My mom audibly cringed when I told her about new latest business cards. I had one woman laughingly say "I have one of those at home" in reference to her husband. Another womon said "I don't want an agitator for a massage therapist." Ummm... actually you do.

Our bodies are made up of 50-75% water. Yes, your body too. Nerves, bones, muscles, some other fascinating stuff, and a whole lotta liquid. Research it and come back, I'll wait...

Here's the thing. Some folx get on my table looking to de-stress & relax, nothing more. I love that, and we can make that happen. And the truth is that most of have have pain related to soft-tissue dysfunction, sometimes or all the time. And that's where we need an agitator. Someone to get things moving around so that we can get back to moving around.

My specialty is helping you be a better you, and  I am committed to providing you with awareness and tools so that you can better help yourself in between sessions.
An appointment is not just a massage or a consultation. It is an opportunity to slow down and retreat within. To take time and space just for you. Time to discover and heal.

I recognize that taking care of your self can be challenging... for so many reasons. Some of us struggle with even getting out of bed every day.

We might not feel worthy of spending time or money on. We might not feel comfortable being touched. We might be afraid of being hurt. Or nervous  about what emotions might come up during the session. We might be facing other insecurities or anxieties about bodywork.
It's okay.

Check in with your body right now.
How are you feeling? What do you notice?

According to the State Medical Board of Ohio:
Massage therapy is the treatment of disorders of the human body by the manipulation of soft tissue through the systematic external application of massage techniques including touch, stroking, friction, vibration, percussion, kneading, stretching, compression, and joint movements within the normal physiologic range of motion; and adjunctive thereto, the external application of water, heat, cold, topical preparations, and mechanical devices.
